This is a sterling silver engagement ring set with a pear cut lab created white sapphire. I have these beautiful stones cut specially for the shop. It is set into a 4-prong setting with a rounded dome band. The ring is lower profile and won't sit flush with a wedding band. It will sit flush with a curved band. Lab sapphires are identical in every way to natural sapphires, except they were not mined from the earth. This stone has a Moh's hardness of 9, just as earth mined sapphires.
