This is a beautiful ring set with an 8mm (3 carats) lab blue sapphire cushion. I have these beautiful stones cut specially for the shop. The stone is set in a cathedral setting with double prongs. The band measures about 3.5mm near the stone and tapers to about 2.3mm at the back.
Lab sapphires are identical in every way to natural sapphires, except they were not mined from the earth. This stone has a Moh's hardness of 9, just as earth mined sapphires.
Metal options:
Sterling silver
The sterling setting was made using deox sterling silver, a special sterling that uses alloys which are more tarnish resistant. Please note that more humid climates may cause any sterling to tarnish more quickly.
